Once upon a time, six people moved in together for a week and embarked on an experiment called “Glaubens-WG” – a shared flat of faiths. Their reward? The German Television Award, a friendship no one quite saw coming, and a whole lot of love along the way.

Reason enough to bring Lars, Sagitha, Josi, Gloria, Dharmasara and Omar back together for the spin-off “Against All Gods – Göttlich gute Freunde”.

Josi, a queer atheist, visits her former flatmates to learn more about their faith and how it shapes their everyday lives. She dances at a henna night, gets on a horse on Easter Sunday – and into the boxing ring – celebrates the Jewish festival of Passover and, in what is probably her biggest challenge of all, learns to simply stay silent during a Buddhist retreat.

What did we take away from it? We could happily watch these six forever. And that wherever people build walls, you can also choose to meet each other with an open heart and genuine curiosity about what might seem different. Or simply join in.
